Types of Volunteers:

Companions/Spotters

During an hour lessons volunteers assist or/and supervise the student while  they tacking and grooming their horse.Companions/Spotters lend a sense of security for the rider, you assist them with their body position, how to steer their horse, and participate in the class etc.

Handler/Leader

Leaders takes care  of both the behavior of the horse and the needs of the rider. As a rider progresses towards being able to steer the horse on his own, the leader may provide backup. Having control of the horse, however slight, builds confidence in the rider and horse as a team.

Side Walkers

Side walker walk at the student’s leg; assisting with the student’s balance.  In order to help the rider gain confidence and strength, we encourage side walkers to assist minimum while also keeping the rider safe.

Barn Chores and Property Maintenance

These are some of the most valued aspects of volunteering. Volunteers can help water, muck stalls, care for animals and other tasks around the barn to ensure the safety, professionalism and quality of RideAble.
