Use a resealable, heavy-duty plastic bag to store the shellfish for freezing. Just place the shellfish inside, squeeze out as much air as you could then write the storage date. Stick in the freezer and you’re done. Do note that freezing live mussels will kill the shellfish.

How to Freeze Cooked Mussels?

  1. Let the mussels cool down to room temperature. They must be completely cooled before freezing.
  2. Put the cooked mussels in an airtight container.
  3. Put on a lid and label it with a permanent marker to indicate what is inside.
  4. They will last a few months in the freezer.
