Customization
Whether commemorating a milestone or expressing a bold style, belt buckles can say a lot.
Despite its significant thickness, the belt is an excellent example of a fluid, tempered, vegetable-tanned hide that is supple and comfortable. The hardware contrasts nicely – the iron buckle is smith made and solid but not too heavy – and it’s had the brass screw put through a forced oxidation process (even further refined since the Partner belt), which has produced a nice look and feel to it. A neat buckle fold and a custom artwork of a shrimp – a fun twist to the usual engraved backplates often used for these types of pieces.
Materials
Almost any metal can be used to create custom belt buckle Texas, but some choices are more popular than others. Brass is known for its resistance to corrosion and malleability, while chromium and titanium are commonly used in military-style buckles. Silver is a common choice for high-end and luxury belt buckles, while pewter and zinc alloys offer cost-effective alternatives.
The distinctive style of Western belt buckles emerged in the early 1900s due to silversmithing skills and ornate designs. The buckles are now a fashionable way to show affiliation, style, and personal messages and are often used as prizes in cowboy events like rodeo competitions.
Wooden buckles are also an option known for their natural look and feel. Mahogany and walnuts are standard options, but other woods can also be used to create unique and stylish buckles. Silver is another popular material for belt buckles, but it comes with sustainability challenges because of the amount of mercury emitted during production.
