Because of high radiation in the Northern regions, coffee growers often tend to shade the crops. This results in the coffee being less acidic when harvested.

2. Nariño

In Southern Regions like Nariño, coffee is grown at higher altitudes since they are closer to the equator. The coffee grown here is different and has much more acid. The coffee here can be noticed by traits of its strong sweet smell. It also has caramel notes. In the Southern regions, the dry seasons begin from June till September. The wet season begins from October till May.

3. Antioquia

Located in the Southern regions, the coffee produced in Antioquia is also known for its high acidity and comes in an average size. The coffee here tastes like fruits. If you are someone who enjoys the aroma of fruits, then this coffee is for you.

4. Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

For coffee lovers wanting something completely new, this is the right choice for you. This region is found in the Northern part of Colombia. The coffee cultivated here has a pleasant taste which comes in a fruity-scented and herbal blend.

5. Huila

Found in the Southern part of Colombia, the Huila region produces coffee that is also an average size, not much acidity and traces of chocolate blend can be tasted in them. So for those who enjoy chocolate, this chocolate coffee should do you just fine.
