Say you purchase a dazzling scope for your assault rifle. When you unlock another weapon, you can slot that same attachment onto it — there is no need to spend extra money on a new one.
This is especially useful in Veteran mode, where enemies tend to be much more heavily armored.
Accuracy
A rifle is a long-barreled firearm that can be used for hunting and target shooting. Tikka rifles United States typically feature a barrel with a helical pattern of spiraled grooves (rifling) cut into it, which causes the bullet to spin when fired.
Many things can affect a rifle’s accuracy, but it can be improved by using proper support techniques and handloading the correct ammunition. Accuracy is also relative — no gun, even the best high-end design, can achieve perfect accuracy.
Another common problem is a lousy bedding job, which can cause the action to shift in the stock or generate minute points of stress within the action’s bedding surfaces. These can have an enormous effect on accuracy.
Reload Time
The reload time is the time it takes for a weapon to drop its mag and insert another round. Decreasing this stat can significantly increase damage per second.
The most common rifles use a bolt action system where a portion of the gases propelling the bullet are used to operate a piston. This piston unlocks the bolt and extracts the spent cartridge while reading a new round in the chamber simultaneously.
While this is an excellent weapon for the range, it must be set up for reloading speed in combat situations. Soldiers in insurgent or militia units are already stressed and burdened with other considerations.
Damage
Depending on where they hit and the type of round they use, rifles can inflict a range of devastating injuries. A total metal jacket bullet punches through tissue like a pencil through paper, while hollow point or soft-nosed rounds designed to fragment and mushroom can cut massive channels of flesh that often prove fatal.
Weight
Rifles that are too light can make it hard to hold them steady from field positions and swing smoothly in a running game. They can also mask errors in shooting techniques.
Rifles chambered for relatively mild cartridges should weigh no less than 7 pounds, though 7.5 to 8 pounds is ideal. This weight provides good balance and moderate recoil. Rifles designed for powerful cartridges must be very heavy to tame their recoil. Ideally, they should be as heavy as the hunter can comfortably carry. This is especially important for long hunting distances and mountain terrains.
Modifications
A well-modified rifle can provide a significant advantage in combat. Modifications like a custom barrel or trigger help the shooter aim and fire more accurately. Other mods reduce recoil, making it easier for the shooter to follow up on shots.
Players can create and install over 700 different weapon modifications at weapons workbenches. Each weapon has several slots for sights, triggers, barrels, and receivers.
